Orchid Calligraphy Studio actualized because of a wedding. Founder and sole Calligrapher, Janine, began her calligraphy journey in 2024 while designing her own wedding invitations. Calligraphy wasn’t something she planned on developing such a passion for, but the subtle (yet technical) art of writing became something she strived to master. What began as a quick project became so much more.

Once Janine began calligraphy studies more seriously, her desire to share these personalized trinkets strengthened. To allow herself to practice more frequently, she began doing projects with a purpose; party favor name tags for friends, thank you notes, and hand-written birthday cards allowed her to hone her skills.

She began her calligraphy journey learning traditional Copperplate Calligraphy and slowly developed her own style of writing. She began her studies of Spencerian script and continues to practice both scripts daily.
